1 Two different ladders both go from the ground to the top of the same building. Ladder #1 has 100 rungs and ladder #2 has 120 rungs. Two people climb up 100ft on each ladder. 1.Which ladder has the smallest distance between rungs? 2.If you climb 50 rungs on ladder #1, how many rungs will you climb on ladder #2 to go to the same height? 2 The three common temperature scales – Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin, are based on different ideas. Celsius, for example, is based on water’s freezing and boiling points. 1. Research each scale and write a description of what each is based on. 2. Compare the change in temperature between the scales – if the temperature increases by 1 degree Celsius, how much does it increase by on the Fahrenheit scale? 3. Find each of these in Fahrenheit, Celsius, and Kelvin : a. body temperature b. freezing point of water c. melting point of lead d. 350 F o oven e. 3 Exit A child has a fever of 104. a. Is this degrees Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin? b. Find the child’s fever temperature in each scale.

4 1.Written description of the origin of each scale. 2.Conversion formulas for Celsius to Fahrenheit, Fahrenheit to Celsius, and Celsius to Kelvin. 3. Listed temperatures in C, F, and K. 4. Exit
