2 Light Shapers Practical Must demonstrate; –2 person portrait – 1 st person standing to the left but around 2 metres in front of other person –Full length portrait accentuating one part of the image and dropping off to darkness elsewhere –Full length portrait with background completely white. Correct exposure head-toe. –Soft light head shot, don’t care about background –beautiful head shot with some dark shadows showing on white backdrop –Hard light portrait with black background – definied edges. –Portrait with a spot of light on subject & background All shots at F11, ISO100, raw All shots must have correct exposure on subject

3 Foreground/ Background Practical Setup correct studio lighting with foreground & background lights – on F11 –Background separation from foreground –Background even F-Stop F11 –Foreground is dark / black without foreground lights –No objects showing in composition –Light foreground correctly & metered correctly in highlights and shadows –Contrast is shown in foreground due to separation

4 Portrait Lighting Intro Practicals Produce images with –Rembrandt –Butterfly –High key –Low Key –Using Gels Review images on JPG preview –View histogram for high key & low key shots

5 Multiple Lights Practical Produce image with –Rembrandt Multiple foreground Light & fill light ratios 1:2 –Key Light from right side –Grey (50%) the background using white paper –Hair light Experiment with 2 foreground lights and produce something different.

6 Effects Practical Recreate the following scenario; –Graduated background from yellow to orange, –Half body shot - subject with rembrandt lighting 1:2 ratio F16 –gel’d hair light –Shadows filled –subject completely in focus. –Background not interrupted by foreground
