3  Allows students to gain loads of new experiences, discover talents, challenge themselves and meet new people  Gives them skills, confidence and a view on life that everyone is looking for, from employers to colleges and universities.  Qualifies them to receive a certificate from UK which is accepted anywhere in the world as an extra curricular qualification

4  The programme we conducted at school has been in line with the actual programme  Therefore those who completed any level will be directly absorbed to the next level of the Edinburgh Award  They will also be given a certificate from school for the levels they completed

5  So far only the excursion and skills were done in school and in new programme children will train in skills, physical and volunteering categories  Silver award students went only to Sri Lanka; they will go to new destinations like Oman, Dubai etc.  Gold award will be added to the programme and they will go to Europe for their excursion  Children will get certificates from UK

6  Orientation  Online registration of candidates  Distribute record books  Appoint assessors to monitor volunteer work,skill, physical activity  Leaders supervise whether candidates get their record books signed  Leaders organize expedition  Coordinator communicates with DofE and arrange awarding of certificates for each category

7 Volunteerin g PhysicalSkillsExpedition 3 months Plan, train for and undertake a 2 day, 1 night expedition. All participants must undertake a further 3 months in the Volunteering, Physical or Skills sections.

8 Volunteeri ng PhysicalSkillsExpedition 6 months One section for 6 months and the other section for 3 months Plan, train for and undertake a 3 day, 2 night expedition. Direct entrants must undertake a further 6 months in either the Volunteering or the longer of the Physical or Skills sections.

9 Volunteeri ng PhysicalSkillsExpeditionResidential 12 months One section for 12 months and the other section for 6 months Plan, train for and undertake a 4 day, 3 night expedition. Undertake a shared activity in a residential setting away from home for 5 days and 4 nights. Direct entrants must undertake a further 6 months in either the Volunteering or the longer of the Physical or Skills sections.

16 BRONZE – Two day / one night expedition with atleast six hours planned activity every day, in normal rural countryside or on appropriate water. If the expedition is on foot, an average Team might achieve a distance of between 24 - 32km/ 15 - 20 miles.

18  Closely monitor how your child progresses in each award category  See to his/her financial and other needs in order to complete the award  Communicate regularly with school and keep yourself updated about any important events of the programme
