24. Summary Trends The global age-standardized prevalence of blindness for adults aged 50+ years decreased from 3.1% (2.7%-3.6%) worldwide in 1990 to 2.0% (1.8%-2.3%) in 2010. The global age-standardized prevalence of MSVI for adults aged 50+ years decreased from 14.2% (11.2%-16.1%) worldwide in 1990 to 10.8% (9.7%-12.4%) in 2010.
