2 National Technology Standards (NETS) Use digital photographs to answer writing prompts, Web 2.0 (Wikis, Blogs) websites to collect and share information Conduct Internet research using WebQuests (includes a project) Explore Internet resources that enhance lessons such as: BrainPop, Educational Videos, Interactive websites and Spreadsheets to create graphs/tables for lab activities Students will analyze lab experiments, compare their results and display the information in the appropriate graph format.

4 Blogs A blog (sometimes referred to as a weblog) is a Web publishing tool that allows authors to quickly and easily self-publish text, artwork, links to other blogs or Web sites, videos and a variety of other content.

9 QR Codes QR stands for Quick Response – they are bar codes on steroids. It is a matrix that when scanned by a camera immediately brings up text, website, video and other types of information. You can go to an online QR code generator and then use a QR code scanner app for a smart phone to scan and read the generated code.

16 Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends. *Note that the wordles are not screened for content. Let’s try it

21 WebQuests A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all the information that learners work with comes from the web and typically ends with a student created project.
