2 What is the Irish Social Science Data Archive? ISSDA is Ireland’s leading centre for quantitative data acquisition, preservation, and dissemination. Its mission is to ensure wide access to quantitative datasets in the social sciences, and to advance the promotion of international comparative studies of the Irish economy and Irish society.

4 Service Remit Access to anonymised microdata from a range of Data Providers ISSDA as “honest broker” or service proxy Customer base: researchers (public & private sector), academics theses, etc. ISSDA as value added service provider (document description & classification), data preservation, data format conversion services, etc.

6 Role with Regard to CSO CSO makes a range of official data available for redistribution to the academic and non-profit research sectors via ISSDA under the provisions of Section 34 of the Irish Statistics Act, 1993. Census of Population EU-Survey on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC, Irish data only) Household Budget Survey (HBS; formerly the Labour Force Survey) National Travel Survey (NTS) Quarterly National Household Survey (QNHS)

7 Terms & Conditions Data Provider License Data User Agreement Compliance to CSO Data Protocol for use of Anonmymised Microdata Files Statutory limitations: CSO data is available from ISSDA for non-commercial, social science research only. Requests for any other use of the data must be directed to the CSO. Data requests for consultancy or commercial purposes should be directed to the CSO. Census data (SAPS and COPSAR) is only available from ISSDA for academic use in Ireland.
