16 Issues in accessing legislative PSI Over 500 agencies with regulatory functions Difficulty in establishing responsible contacts Multiple formats of data from pre-1922 to present including no records, paper, Word processor, Spreadsheet, PDF, SGML, XML, HTML etc Multiple and changing data locations and formats Issues regarding data accuracy Legal/Copyright issues unclear Priority on printed legislation Frequency of data updating inconsistent

17 Importance of Asset Registers Provide framework for development of new eContent products Reduce workload and duplication of effort for PSI holders and potential re-users Reduce effort required to handle the administrative aspect of locating and evaluating PSI Provide assistance in developing feasibility studies for projects where PSI involved Establish framework for estimating technical aspects of projects (eg PDF, XML, Html) Provide detailed record structures, sample data Clarify legal, technical, update frequency issues etc Provide possible impetus for greater degree of standardisation in PSI holdings/registers (note click licensing)
