Knowing how to relax quickly when you feel your body and brain are getting overwhelmed (dealing with your teenager?) Knowing when to leave a situation that is causing you extreme frustration (a political discussion?)

4. Things to Teach a Student Who Has Problems With Explosive Behavior Teach relaxation skills to use throughout the day and when frustration is small. Teach the student how to identify early signs of stress. How her body feels. Make a plan for how you can help the student early in the stress cycle. Teach the student to leave an impossible situation early while he can still think clearly - plan for where to go.
