Regions By Jaron

Our Regions The United States is separated into regions. A region is an area with common features that set it apart from other areas. There are five Regions in the United States and they are the west, middle west, northeast, southwest, and southeast. New Jersey is also separated into 4 regions and they are the Atlantic Coastal Plain, Piedmont, Highlands, and Ridge and Valley

The United States Regions

Northeast We live in the northeast, and we have all four seasons. They are winter, summer, fall, and spring. The Coastal Plain is a flat lowland along the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The Appalachian mountains are found in most of the states in this region

Southeast The southeast is warm all year long, and is crisscross with rivers. There are large areas of wetlands such as swamps, marshes, and bayous-ex Everglades. The Davis bayou is a marshy slow moving stream.

Middle west The middle west produces corn and wheat. It is made up of the Interior Plain. Also the central plain is found in the east, low elevation, and produces corn. The Great Plains are found in the west, cold winters and hot summers. The Great Plain also produces wheat.

Southwest The Rocky Mountains appear in this region as well as the west. One of the most famous famous landforms is found in this region and it is the Grand Canyon. This region shares the Great Plains with the Middle west. The region is made up of high plateaus, plains, and deserts.

West The Great Basin is in this region. The redwood trees that grow in Oregon and California are the tallest trees in the world. The landforms include mountains, plateaus, and valleys.
