1 Merit Quick Start Guide Overview As a manager, you may award a regular merits and one-time merits to your employees. Awarding a merit requires several steps to be completed. This quick start guide outlines the various steps you may take to award a merit. Detailed instructions for each action are described in the Compensation User Guide. Steps to Award a Merit Steps are listed below that need to be completed to award a merit. The steps should be completed in accordance with applicable policies. If an employee receives additional pay such as maximum security pay and/or language interpreter pay, the additional pay must be removed to be eligible for a regular merit. After the merit has been approved, the additional pay should be added again if the employee is eligible. accessHR User GuideVersion Date: February 25, 2008Page 1 of 4 NOTE: This rule applies to regular merits only.
