What you post on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram is public domain for all to see Most potential employers will search your name on social networking sites to look for red flags Do not post inappropriate pictures of yourself drinking, partying or with sexual references on Facebook, Instagram, etc

3 Boundaries & the Internet How are you branding yourself to your future employer? A Partier? Someone who has the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities to do the job (KSA)? The attributes required to perform a job; generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education or training.

4 Tips on Interviewing Legal Stuff that you should be familiar with Many laws protect you during the recruiting process. You cannot be discriminated or turned away because of your Age, Race, Gender, Sexual Orientation, Religion, Gender Identity or Ethnicity! They can say no or turn you away if you are not qualified for the job! San Francisco Minimum Wage is $9.79 per hour State of California Minimum Wage is $8.00 per hour

5 Tips on interviewing (Presentation, Dress, Asking questions) Never be late! Dress the part Do your homework about the workplace. See what people are wearing when you fill out the application. Leave the piercings,rings, necklaces and other jewelry at home If you have tattoo’s wear a long sleeve shirt or blouse Short skirts, plunging necklines, tight or very loose clothing are not acceptable in most workplaces

Polish your shoes! Keep your nails short and clean

7 Tips on interviewing (Presentation, Dress, Asking questions) Turn off your phone unless there may be an emergency Inform the recruiter that you may need to take a call due to an EMERGENCY if it is an dire situation The interview is a two way process Is an opportunity for them to determine if you are the best candidate for the opening Is also opportunity for you to determine if you want to work for them

Stay away from yes or no questions as much as possible Ok to ask work related questions such as: Can you tell me about my co-workers and my future boss? Why is there an opening? What is the starting salary? What are the work hours?

9 Tips on interviewing (Presentation, Dress, Asking questions) Questions that delve into your personal life are never appropriate.. Are you planning on having kids? Where are your parents from? Stay away from asking the recruiter questions that delve into your personal life
