4 It's always the small things that no one sees that result in the big things that everyone wants The Power of our Habits Romans 7:15-20 “I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.”

Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?” By nature, we are not self-disciplined people By nature, our sin pulls us away from what God wants

Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord...” By nature, we are not self-disciplined people By nature, our sin pulls us away from what God wants

7 It's always the small things that no one sees that result in the big things that everyone wants The Power of our Habits Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Spirit-disciplined We need to move from a self-disciplined life, to a Spirit-disciplined life “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20)

Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last for ever.” Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us”

I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.”
