9 Sprinting Events 100 Meter Dash 200 Meter Dash- ½ lap 400 Meter Dash – 1 lap

10 Middle – Long Distance Events 800 Meter ( ½ mile): 2 laps 1600 Meter (1 mile): 4 laps 3200 Meter (2 miles): 8 laps

11 Relay Events 4 x 100 (each runner runs ¼ lap) 4 x 200 (each runner runs ½ lap) 4 x 400 (each runner runs 1 lap)

14 What do YOU Need to Join?

15 1) Time to Commit Practice is 5 days a week (yes, even Fridays) Typical Week Monday: Meets at White Stadium Tuesdays / Thursdays: BHS 2:03 -2:45: Optional homework hall in Room 123 2:45 – 3pm: Optional conditioning 3 – 3:10: Instruction in Room 123 (everyone is DRESSED to train and ready to workout!) 3:10-4:15: Workouts

16 Monday: Meets at White Stadium Wednesdays / Fridays: Madison Park Outdoor Track 2:03 – 2:15: Track Bus boards out front of BHS 3:00: All athletes are DRESSED and ready to train! Outdoor Track is a commitment for 10 weeks! March – May!

17 2)Grades! GPA requires that your 2 nd quarter grades were over 1.7 (no Fs!) Weekly grade checks must be provided before competing in each meet Remember, school must always come 1 st!

18 3) Copy of your Current Physical A physical is good for 12 months This is non-negotiable. You cannot train / compete without a physical!

19 4. Running Shoes Your legs, knees, and feet are incredibly valuable! Protect your body by purchasing proper RUNNING shoes. Great shoes are the best way to prevent injuries – both short and long term

20 5) Great Attitude Train hard, compete all out…. But have some fun too!

21 6) Team Focus Bengal Track Team isn’t just a team, it’s a family.
