3 SASB Marketing Strategies:  Open Houses  Updated website/Facebook  Ads in local newspapers  Ads in all area Churches-Catholic and non-Catholic  Word of Mouth-It works!  Recruitment sessions at schools such as Cold Spring, local daycares and other elementary schools which do not have all K-8  Development conference attendance  Updated marketing materials  Lawn signs placed locally  Celebrations i.e. 70 th Anniversary of the Opening of St. Aedan School in 1944. 6 Additional Tools for Learning that SASB Include:  Special Programming  Special Ed assistance from city of New Haven-tutors, speech/language, etc, plus a Title I lab  Interns from Quinnipiac  Advanced Math teacher Grades 6-8  Certified K-8 Spanish teacher and Gym teacher  Mobile technology carts for each floor  Expanded music program to include a choir group, more keyboards and recorders  Part-time Interventionists for math & reading  Increased music education in K-8 & Pre-K levels ASCSR_NOVEMBER_2014_6

7 Tuition Fees:  Average K – 8 Per Pupil Tuition last three years  2012-2013$4,050.  2013-2014$4,050.  2014-2015$4,050.  Current average K – 8 Per Pupil Cost Tuition = $4,050. No increase this year!  Total cost to educate a child for SASB =~$5,660. ASCSR_NOVEMBER_2014__7

8 Revenue in addition to tuition fees are generated by the following:  Archdiocese of Hartford Support  Archbishop’s Annual  CSSP – Catholic School Support  Grants (HOPES,etc)  Parish Subsidy  Annual Development Appeal  Alumni bequests  Annual Phonothon ASCSR_NOVEMBER_2014__8

11 Initiatives to Decrease Spending:  Budget Freezes  Gifts and donations  Prudent spending  Going “Green”- i.e. Utilize SchoolReach program and use less paper for communication, less waste ASCSR_NOVEMBER_2014__11

13 Tuition Costs per Student:  Per Pupil Cost in Public School in New Haven is approximately $10,000-$12,000  Magnet School average cost per student is approximately $12,845  Average cost of educating a child in CT is $14,531  Educating children in Catholic Schools saves the state of CT $230,723,218  SASB will continue to provide academic excellence, with a faith based approach, for children in New Haven and the surrounding area ASCSR_NOVEMBER_2014__13
