On the move!!! On the move!!! BY Grade-3 students Working on Who is responsible for our safety???

In our presentation you will find…….. Answers to all the questions our teacher asked What are those questions?? Lets take a look at them before we start Here we Go………………………

Content Question-we need to learn What is meant by rules? What are different traffic rules you know? What is zebra crossing and what is its importance? Why do you think it is called zebra crossing and not an elephant crossing. Can you guess? What do you know about different traffic rules given in your book? Do you know any other not mentioned here? What are the rules of pedestrian given in the lesson?

Unit Question- we need to ponder How safe is our school neighborhood? How can we improve the safety of our school neighborhood? What do rules mean to me?

WHAT IS MEANT BY RULES? Rules are those principles which a society sets for proper organization and management.

Do you know these rules? Don’t worry come with us and we will show you….

TRAFFIC SIGNS WE KNOW…. Zebra crossing: zebra crossing are those lines which we can see on the road to facilitate the pedestrians to cross the road Red light means to stop, yellow to ready, red to go

RULES FOR PEDESTRIANS….. Hey watch out before you… Cross the road at a zebra crossing Look right & left before crossing Don’t cross from behind a parked vehicle Never play near the road Always walk on footpath

Why call it zebra crossing? I guess you’ll all know when you look at the picture Right…………….

TRAFFIC SIGNS-AND RED COLOR Hey be aware……. STOP DOUBLE CURVE CONSTRUCTION NARROW AHEAD PATH FOR PADESTRAIN NO TURN

Some more for your safety Road ends here No right turn Population ahead Round about

Remember these rules and if you forget don’t worry because you can see our presentation again and can ask for a print…. Hey don’t hesitate, we can help…………

Our Project To communicate clearly and be understood we followed these steps: We looked at current safety practices. We watched traffic and pedestrians, and collected data. We learned more about safety. We handed out surveys about how kids travel between home and school. We developed a plan to make our neighborhood safer.

What we observed….. Hey do you remember the day outside the school gate…..yes That day we observed and make note of the following things

Traffic problems outside our school- Pakistan 1.No awareness in common people of traffic rules 2.No body bothers to follow these rules 3.Roads are over crowded with vehicles 4.No specific routes for heavy traffic (busses) 5.Negligence by the government &traffic control authorities 6.Traffic sergeant tries but no one listen to him 7.People are impatient 8.People park anywhere they like 9.People are not kind to others 10.They shout and scream at each others 11.No respect 12.Horn a lot 13.Make fun of female drivers 14.Traffic comes from everywhere there is no system

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TRAFFIC PROBLEMS? GOVERNMENT TRAFFIC POLICE COMMON PEOPLE Our group thinks that people are themselves responsible for all this mess

What can we do? Our suggestion Car Pool:- principal should send notes to parents that students coming from one area should try to come together in one car For instance a car can accommodate 5 students 5 Students from Model Town area should come in one car rather than in 5 cars ( car Pool ) Parents take turn In this way each parent will have to give duty on one day and rest for 4 days—also save energy 5 working days will be covered and the traffic outside school will be controlled Students coming to school could walk or take a bus Lets make it more clear how our suggestion can help solve the problem…………..

Car Pool………… Suppose there our 200 students in our branch….remember division problem miss amber taught us.. Now divide 200 by 5 as200 = 40 5 so instead of 40 cars we will have 40 cars……………. What do you think of our suggestion…….aren’t we brilliant?

Will traffic be a serious problem in future in Pakistan? Hey stop and think for a second…………. If we will not take it seriously we will be seeing and facing –more road accidents –more people getting hurt or dying on roads –More doctors, more ambulances, more medicines –More fighting and abusing……

Who is responsible for our safety? We ourselves there is no survival with out safety, if we are not safe there is no surety of our survival.

AKNOWLEDGEMENTS Our beloved Miss Amber and Miss Saima Microsoft cliparts
