3 Contribution DS – 1 – 2014 Privacy (Partner) Understanding privacy as a cyberpsychological concept –Need to factor in the human as an individual, rather than ‘user’ –Privacy is essentially identity X territoriality Gender, demographic, temporal aspects –Anonymity vs. utility in datasets –Ethics in analysis: Quis custodes ipsos custodies –Empower users by pushing data/analysis back to them Move towards ‘little data’, i.e. idiothetic rather than nomothetic, Life- logging, wearables and sousveillance Non-privacy: services that do not require log-in Collective privacy: total intra-organisation transparency
