2 Introductory Remarks God has placed within man the need to worship This is why we observe that in every civilization man has had objects of worship Those objects of worship were not always the right object But they still worshiped

3 The Object of Worship We are not the object of worship Some view worship as Pop Psychology Colossians 2:18 Some view worship as a form of personal entertainment Psalm 96:6 Some view worship as a form of self expression

4 The Object of Worship Remember the definition of worship To what are we giving reverence? To what are we giving allegiance? To what are we honoring? To what are we doing obeisance?

5 The Object of Worship The object of worship is NOT our fellow man Some actually exalt and worship men falsely 2 Thessalonians 2:4 Acts 10:25-26 Some view worship as merely a way to help others with earthly problems Psalm 69:29-34 Some view worship as a big social club thinking that they make the rules and regulations thereof Matthew 15:9

6 The Object of Worship The object of Worship IS and only CAN BE God He is deserving of worship because He is holy Psalm 99:5, 9 Revelation 4:10 We worship God simply because He is WORTHY of worship We worship God simply because He is WORTHY of worship Matthew 4:10 Revelation 15:4

7 The Object of Worship The object of Worship IS and only CAN BE God Not even angels are worthy of worship Revelation 22:8-9 Daniel 3:28

8 Conclusion Who are you worshipping today? Do you need to begin worshipping the true God today? Let us all give God the glory and honor due Him
