2 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. Matthew 18:4-5 See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. Matthew 18:10 …Your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost. Matthew 18:14

3 W-wonder: in amazement (Do not take good things for granted. ) O-optimism ( True optimism does not pretend everything is all right. It accepts imperfection with hope.) N-naïve ( Do not play hide and seek with self. Able to accept and express own feelings.) D-dependence ( is needy, and is dependent on someone ) E-emotion (It is not a bad thing to express emotions. Both tears and laughter are acceptable.) R-resilience (flexible. Will not be beaten. Will try to solve the problem one way or the other) F-free play (Do not live in a box) U-uniqueness (No need to compare with others. True to self) L-love ( Give love , receive love )

4 9 out of 10 children who hear the gospel will respond positively to the message. A lot of great missionaries and pastors were called when they were a child. A large percentage of people growing up in a church left faith. Why?

5 Worship is one’s heart expression of love, adoration, and praise to God with an attitude and acknowledgement of His supremacy and Lordship. Worship is a two-way street, involving both offering all of man and receiving all of God.

6 Call to Worship - With God ’ s Word, call children to worship God. Praise Songs – G ive God our adoration, thanksgiving and praise. Enter into God ’ s presence. Offering – worship through giving. Prayer – verbal communication with God. Scripture Reading – Listen to God ’ s word. Message – Receiving the Bible Truth. Response – Respond to the Truth received.

7 1.Bring children to think about God ’ s creation, faithfulness, love, holy character and glory. 2.Focus on our humble need for God ’ s forgiveness and help. 3.Lift up to God our adoration, thanksgiving, praise, and offer our lives as a living sacrifice. 4.Joyful, spirit-filled, and with emotion. 5.Actions and movements are to enhance our worship experience.

8 Have many smaller segments (5 min.) Introduce music, movements, or sounds to bring in each segment. Segments may be repeated. Choose age-appropriate theme, activities, crafts and stories. Don’t forget food, drink and frequent bathroom trips.

10 Staffing Needs: -A worship coordinator -A song leader -A leader for ~10 children -May involve trained high school students

11 faith in Christ, baptized, love for God, knowledge of Bible, cooperative, interest in children, kind, flexible, personal appearance, considerate of individual, impartiality and fairness, sense of humor, use praise, cheerful, patient, pleasing manner, responsible.
