5. Fortis Portal communicates with the Fortis Server entirely over port 80 (HTTP) by utilizing web services. Powerweb requires 1433 (SQL), 138, 139 (SMB, Network file sharing). Fortis Portal displays documents as PDF’s, so only a PDF viewer is required on the end user. Powerweb requires that an ActiveX control is installed, meaning that the end user must be running a Windows OS, running Internet Explorer, and has local rights to his or her machine to install an Active X control.
