3 Classical Guitar 1-4: Grade Levels: 9-12 Grade Levels: 9-12 Tuesday through Friday 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm Tuesday through Friday 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm This course is designed for beginning to advance guitar students. No previous experience is necessary for classical guitar 1 and students who successfully pass the placement test are guided to take guitar 2 through 4. 4 Course Description: Course Description: Students will learn the fundamentals of classical guitar technique as well as fret board harmony. This course is suggested to students who are interested in classical guitar and would like to learn to play solo pieces from the classical guitar repertoire. The course is also highly recommended to students who consider majoring in music. Students will learn the fundamentals of classical guitar technique as well as fret board harmony. 5 Grading Policy: 50% Ensemble work and performance 50% Ensemble work and performance 50% Classical solo performance and theory 50% Classical solo performance and theory

6 Attendance, Absence and Make Up Work Students who are absent during the ensemble performance can practice their part individually and be prepared for the next ensemble session. Upon achieving good ensemble performance their make up work is accepted for full credit. 2 Absence per semester is acceptable and can be recovered through above instruction. Students who have accumulated more than 2 absences will fail the course.

7 Homework Assistance Mr. Falsafi is available every morning Tuesday through Friday from 8:15 am to 9:00 am at room 115 for assisting the students with their assignments. Please feel free to participate to audit the session or contact Mr. Falsafi to make an appointment and reserve your 15 minutes time.
