1. Galatians Salvation by law? Sanctification by law?

2. 66 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 77 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.

3. Let’s look at 3 reasons why Paul is so astonished. “You are turning away so soon” This could be very early, possibly 6months-1 year. They were in the process of transferring to another gospel. “From the One having called you by the grace of Christ” They were transferring their loyalties from God Himself and from the grace he expressed in Christ.

4. 3. “Into another gospel, which is not another” The grace of Christ is the true gospel note; “ to another gospel” 2 different words are used here for “another”. One means another of a different kind the other means another of the same kind. The Galatians were being led astray by a similar – sounding gospel, which in truth was a perversion. ( Ron Merryman)

5. 77 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. Acts 15:24 Since we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, ταρ ά σσω tarasso (tar-as'-so) v. 1.to stir or agitate (roil water) 2.It’s a word that is continuous.“They keep on troubling your souls”.

6. 77 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. They are determined and desire to “turn” the Gospel into something opposite! James 4:9 Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom Acts 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

7. 66 I marvel that you (Who are these?) (What are they doing?) are turning away from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, (When?) so soon

8. Grace of Christ Different gospel What is the grace of Christ and what would a different gospel look like? 1 Corinthians 15:1-5 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand,

9. 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you– unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: -that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 _ and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

10. 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.” 23 Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, 24 but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, 25 who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.
