We saw how many issues with trade and violence there were under the weak Articles of Confederation. I promise the Constitution will not impact states’ right6s and individual liberty will be protected. Please get some of your ant- federalist friends to support us! October, 1787 Patrick Henry I am quite concerned that the Constitutional Convention will produce a document that takes away the liberty we fought for! Even after I received a copy of the new Constitution from George Washington, I feel it takes away the ideals of liberty and rights for Americans. I am expecting that, because I have so much popularity in Virginia, I can convince my state to not ratify the Constitution! I discovered I would mush rather spend my time writing legal documents that protect the natural rights of individuals than commanding an army.
