1 World and Natural Heritage Sites Porto, a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site Shaped like an amphitheatre, Porto lies along the right bank of the Douro River, stretching up as far as the Atlantic Ocean. The Historic Centre, a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, still embraces its unique medieval legacy. There’s no better way of getting to know a city than by strolling and shopping around, mingling with the local people and letting your worries fade away.

Wine Dinner 20h15-23h30 Meeting Point, Universidade Lusófona Short sightseeing tour in the new city centre and along the riverside, followed by exclusive wine dinner at the Restaurant Sessenta Setenta. Welcome drink in the terrace overlooking the Douro River, near the ruins of the former Monchique Convent from the 17th century. Reputed as one of the City’s most creative and innovative Chefs, Francisco Meireles invites guests to experience his Cuisine d’auteur pairing with fine Douro wines presented by VDS wine-makers. Farewell Dinner 20h30-24h00 Meeting Point, Universidade Lusófona Short sightseeing tour in the downtown, followed by a welcome reception at the Palácio da Bosa, one of the city’s most impressive Neoclassical monuments, dating back to the late 19 th century. Wine tasting and aperitif, followed by a very traditional Portuguese menu in the refined yet cozy atmosphere of the restaurant O Comercial. Dress code: Casual

Douro Valley Tour 09h00-19h00 Meeting Point, Universidade Lusófona Bus transfer to the Douro Valley the oldest demarcated wine region in the world, recently classified a UNESCO’s Natural Heritage. Short stop at the Baroque Palácio de Mateus a masterpiece of Baroque architecture, designed by Nicolau Nasoni, for a walk in the magnificent gardens. Welcome reception at Quinta do Seixo, owned by Sogrape one the country’s leading wine makers, famous for brands such as Sandeman Port, Mateus and other fine wines. Picnic in the vineyards, followed by guided visit to the “Adega” and Port wine tasting. A short cruise in the upper Douro River en route to Porto, with scheduled arrival at 7 pm.
