EpiCore Objective EpiCore is a team of IT professionals dedicated to providing top-quality solutions to businesses by maximizing communications and using each individuals’ strengths. We strive to achieve A-grade work by committing ourselves to excellent performance.

Group Policies Team Review Board The Team Review Board is used to deal with frequent behavior problems. All team members not being brought before the review board are on the review board. Reviewable offenses include, but are not limited to: Being asked to leave a meeting for violation of conduct polocies. Turning in assignments late, not at all, or assignments of poor quality. Not showing up to meetings. Failure to show up or perform well in class.

Group Policies Our course instructor, Ms. Blackman has the power to step in and force a Review Board meeting or other action if we fail to do so. Any reprimand will be documented with a form signed by team members, including the guilty party, as well as the course instructor. If a member repeatedly fails to perform then they will be given a termination form signed by the team members and the instructor.

Communication EpiCore meets twice a week in class. EpiCore has one standing official group meeting weekly. EpiCore has one standing meeting weekly with our instructor. Supplementary meetings and working sessions are scheduled as needed.

Communication We use several mediums to communicate outside of class and meetings. We have a contact list with email addresses and phone numbers for each group member. We make use of the advantages of using Gmail We are able to use Google Docs to centrally save and edit files. We use a Google Site to simplify the organization of deadlines and who is in charge of specific tasks. We also use this site’s communication board.

Project Objectives The main objectives for this project are to: Choose a business that is lacking in some area of Information Systems. Analyze the business to see what systems are currently in place and how they can be improved. Create a system that will provide business value for the company. Although these objectives are vague they sum up the basic purpose of the project.

Client Initially we had 3 choices Tyner Petrus Co. Inc. Sporting Goods retailer in West Monroe, LA. This is the company we chose. Bob Gavin Appraisal Service Real Estate Appraisal company in Natchez, MS No need for new systems. Fox’s Pizza Pizza Place in Winnsboro, LA No need for new systems.

Client Tyner Petrus Co., Inc. Tyner Petrus Co., Inc. is a hardware and sporting goods retailer dedicated to customer service, large selection of inventory, and competitive prices. Their current systems are almost all completely paper based.

Systems To provide business value for Tyner Petrus we chose to create 3 systems. Automated Payroll System Returns Tracking System Gun Counter Repairs Ticketing System

Automated Payroll System This system will provide Tyner Petrus with a slide card clock in and clock out procedure. The payroll will be automatically calculated for each pay period, which will save accounting 3 hours weekly. This system will also allow Tyner Petrus to take advantage of direct deposit into employee checking accounts.

Returns Tracking System This system will aid in the returning of items for credit and for replacement products. It is estimated that this system will save Tyner Petrus upwards of $50,000 annually.

Gun Repairs Ticketing System This system will allow Tyner Petrus to keep better track of what parts are used on a gun repair, the hours spent on labor for a gun repair, and the status of a gun. Not only will this save Tyner Petrus money, but it will allow for them to make money on labor charges. This system will also provide for better customer service.
