Wet down bore with a wet patch …always work from breech to muzzle …protect crown of the muzzle Brush gun and wipe off powder residue Brush bore 10 strokes with a wet brush Wipe bore with dry patches until they come out clean Wipe gun clean and lightly lubricate Lightly oil bore (one patch, light oil)

Reassemble and check function Are all parts correctly installed—nothing left over? Do all features work, especially safeties? Store with springs relaxed (i.e. hammer down, trigger released, etc.)
