G - In Today’s Agenda we will be covering the following topics: Current trends in alarm communication technologies. POTs & Alternate Communications. DSC IP & GSM Products. And Last but not least our NEW self-contained Alarm System SCW9057 A.K.A IMPASSA. (The word impasse may also refer to any situation in which no progress can be made. A stalemate in chess is a common example) NEW IMPASSA - SCW9057 DSC IP & GSM Products

8 Today’s Communication Options
Traditional POTS VOIP including MFVN GPRS, EDGE & UMTS M - What communication options do we have today? Traditional POTs VOIP Including MFVN IP and the Internet Public Radio including GPRS, EDGE & UMTS labeled 2.5G, 3G and beyond

9 Communications Trends 2008 - 2012
M - Current trends in alarm communication technologies studies show that by 2012 a 97% of the entire US population will increase to 314 million cellular users; with a residential broadband internet penetration of a 88%. Younger households are going with cell phones only or VOIP services.

10 Wireless Households 1 in 7 are Wireless Only Age Trend
M - Also, our Current trends in alarm communication technologies studies show that 1 in 7 adults only have wireless services. And, in a five year window the number of Wireless households has Quadrupled. Age Trend Example At Age 38, Number of Wireless Only Households Quadrupled in five years

11 Cellular Technologies
Change In The PSTN The life span of a Central Office Switch is 30 years. Average age of Central Office Switch is 20 No replacement parts available. Soft switch overlays being implemented today. Soft switch’s are more efficient. Cellular Technologies Used for Primary and Backup Communications. Drop in solution for landline replacement. Now available as an option to virtually all monitoring scenarios. - Residential - Commercial - Fire (Sole Path & Backup per UL 864) - Event Monitoring G - The life span of a Central Office Switch is 30 years Average age of Central Office Switch is 20 years No replacement parts available Soft switch overlays being implemented today Soft switch’s are more efficient ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~MORE BELOW~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Used for Primary and Backup Communications. 12 G - Today’s Technology is forcing us to have Everything going over IP – “Everything is moving towards IP” Voice, Data, even Television using some of the following transmission methods (Wired Connections, DSL, Cable, FIBER, T1 etc.) Wireless – GSM/GPRS (2G,3G,4G etc), Wi-Fi, Wi-Max, and Satellite. The future is IP and the future is already here!!

13 What technology should you go for?
PSTN vs. GPRS/IP What technology should you go for? Phone lines are NOT supervised GPRS & IP Communicators are at a minimum rate of 10 seconds. Phone communication is seconds GPRS & IP are two seconds MAX! Phone line is without encryption GPRS & T-Link modules are Panel download over phone line is minutes GPRS & IP take approx minutes DSC GPRS or IP Modules will communicate directly to a monitoring Central Station No Clearance house DSC SIA DC 10 IP Protocol has been already implemented by ELK , Alarm.com Sur-Gard receivers can receive thousands of simultaneous IP signals without drops.
