2. On this day in history, November 25, 1950, the "Appalachian Storm," hits the eastern part of the United States, killing hundreds and causing millions of dollars in damages. It dumped record amounts of snow in parts of the Appalachian Mountains. United States

5. Today’s lunch is chicken and cheese quesadilla, refried beans and pineapple tidbits. Today’s lunch specials are meat lovers pizza and hot buffalo chicken sandwich.

6. Monday’s lunch is popcorn chicken with roll, steamed carrots, and diced pears. Monday’s lunch specials are buffalo chicken pizza and hot dog on a bun.

8. Emily: Hey Caroline, do you buy lunch at school? Caroline: Yeah, I get lunch at school all the time. Emily: Well, have you every wondered what happens with all the empty milk cartons?

9. Caroline: Yeah, I know they are made out of paper. Do you think they could be recycled? Emily: Yes, starting today Matapeake Middle School is going to start recycling Milk Cartons. Caroline: That's awesome! There will be so much less trash in the landfill. What do we have to do?

10. Emily: Well at the end of lunch, when you bring your tray up, simply make sure that your milk carton is empty and then place it in the recycling can. Caroline: Sounds easy and we will be helping the environment. Nick: Recycle your milk cartons or else!
