Engineer Training Troubleshooting Theory TJ8300 / TJ8500 Troubleshooting Theory

Engineer Training Troubleshooting Theory TJ8300 / TJ8500 Confidential 2 Troubleshooting Ask the customer about the problem. Analyze and define the problem. Loading problem Ink system problem Mechanical problem Electronics problem Quality problem

Engineer Training Troubleshooting Theory TJ8300 / TJ8500 Confidential 3 Printing Quality Problems Ask to see printed samples. Print samples yourself. Check bridge temperature. Print “movall” + Nozzles status Files. Check if the problem is “local”. For example if it is a particularly bad IJ head or IJ driver –replace It. Check the ink level. Check LPAP pressure and PA filter. Check Ink flow. Check ink Filters. Check Ink Viscosity. Check IJ driver board – amplitude and rise time with a ‘Scope’. Check Bridge movement (Mechanically). Check Bridge DST. Check Bridge Concentricity. Check Timer parameters for resolution.

Engineer Training Troubleshooting Theory TJ8300 / TJ8500 Confidential 4 Mechanical Problems Perform full printing cycle in order to determine where the problem is located. Verify that the suspected component is causing the problem. For example: un-loader/ loose screw/ pulley/ timing belt. Adjust the suspected component or replace if needed. Perform full printing cycle In order to verify that the problem is resolved.

Engineer Training Troubleshooting Theory TJ8300 / TJ8500 Confidential 5 Ink System Problems Ink leakage problemWaste pump problem Tighten screws and replace O-rings if needed. Waste pump can not pump waste fluids. Check the main waste bath filter and clean it if needed. Check the waste pump filter – clean it if needed. Perform waste pump cleaning Procedures. Check the air pressure supplied to the waste pump (2-3 bars for normal operation). Adjust it if needed.

Engineer Training Troubleshooting Theory TJ8300 / TJ8500 Confidential 6 Loading Problems Paper is missing the Grippers Registration problem Cutter problems Not recognizing paper in the buffer Paper stuck in the buffer Un parallel loading to drum Check buffer load Position in the RT-Run software. Check Gripper piston Position. Clean Gripper teeth. Check motor’s Pulley. Check Paper Left & right Sensors. Check motor Power. Check cutter sensors and Flags in the I/O. Check that the cutter is moving mechanically. Check motor Power. Check motor’s Pulley. Cutting media only to One side –check that The Cutter profiles are Aligned. Clean the Cutter’s round knife with alcohol as part of maintenance. Check buffer and roller sensors. Clean paper sensors. Check humidity level in the room. Check roller and Buffer pulleys. Check Buffer and Roller timing belts tension. Check that there are no scraps of paper inside the Buffer – clean it if needed. Check roller Pistons pressure. Check that the loader is leveled and aligned to the drum. Check idler’s gap between the 2 Rolls and perform adjustments if Needed.

Engineer Training Troubleshooting Theory TJ8300 / TJ8500 Confidential 7 Electronic Problems DMC motor does not move. Electronic Problems Data channel Print sample Local problem 1 color all over the bridge. All colors Check TLPB board. C,M,Y,K or CL,ML problem. Check MTFM board. Check PFM boards. Swap with another board and verify that the problem shifts to another color. Check IJ Driver Board. Swap with another board and verify that the problem shifts to another Color. Check IJ Head. Check relevant timer board. Swap with another board and verify that the problem shifts to another color. If problem is not Resolved, replace the PFM. Check power for relevant motor. Check that Encoder readings are OK. Check MC controller board. Check GALIL board. Check Pulleys of the relevant Motor. Check tension of Timing belt for the relevant motor. Check Cables between the Components. Check the motor’s Driver.
