3 Many people believe Hugo Eckener was behind the sabotage of the LZ 129 Hindenburg when it caught fire and was destroyed. Hugo Eckener was the former head of the Zeppelin Company Eckener publicly endorsed the static spark hypothesis.

4  A. A. Hoehling published Who Destroyed the Hindenburg? in 1962.  The book denied all theories but sabotage.  It points the blame at Eric Spehl, a rigger on the Hindenburg.  Many other theories also point blame at Eric Spehl.  The movie “ The Hindenburg” was released based on this hypothesis also.

5  “Neither the German nor the American investigations endorsed any of the sabotage theories. “  “Proponents of the sabotage hypothesis argue that any finding of sabotage would have been an embarrassment for the Nazi regime.”  “It was thought that such a finding by the German investigation was suppressed for political reasons at the time.” -Wikipedia

6  The Hindenburg disaster took place over 70 years ago and still the causes are debated.  It has had such controversy since the incident happened.  Many people believe that there was an engineering mistake or human error.  Many people believe it was sabotage and someone plotted against the Hindenburg.
