6 The capital city of Slovakia – Bratislava Capital city of Slovak republic is proud for its history, but also for its cultural-historical landmarks. It is situated in the south-west of Slovakia stretches on both banks of the Danube and in the foothills of the Little Carpathian Mts. This strategically important place has often played a big role in the history of central Europe. The most attractive part of Bratislava is the Old Town where the most historical sights as well as cultural institutions are concentrated. Its tiny lanes offer an ideal atmosphere for romantic walks to those who love to follow signs of history in the middle of modern world. The significant structures in the historic centre of the city are all parts of the Monument Town Reserve.

7 Bratislava Castle Dominant of Bratislava – Bratislava Castle lies on castle-hill, 85 meters above water level of Danube river. Its history reaches 11 th century. It contains exhibitions of Slovak National Museum. I have also visited beautiful dominant of Bratislava, which evokes table turned over.

8 Slavin Slavin is memorial devoted to Soviet Soldiers, deceased during World Wars II. on area of Western Slovakia. It is the only operating army cemetery in Bratislava. It was built in 1957 – 1960. Slavin was pronounced a National cultural landmark. Our walk to kindergarden´s surrounding.

9 „Presporacik“ If we are tired, we can take a ride with popular vehicle „Presporacik“ around Old City´s landmarks.

10 Old Town Todays Townhall appearance is result of its architectural development, which was marked with structure changes and rebuildings from 14 th century until present day. Your will be impresed by beautiful renaissance arcades on forecourt. You can have some rest on square in front of Townhall all year long. That is where Christmas market takes place every year. We warm ourselves with hot tea, served by handicapped people.

11 St. Martin Cathedral The biggest, oldest and most beautiful Bratislava´s cathedral was coronation cathedral during 1563 – 1830. I also received crown from children, just like Maria Theresa.

12 Splendid rococo palace with decorative park was built by Anton Grassalkovich in 1760. in front of palace, which is aedes of President of Slovak Republic, is court d´honneur. 22 Presidential Palace We have watched changing of guards.

13 Slovak National Theatre and sculpture Cumil Slovak National Theatre is most representative building of Hviezdoslavovo square. This elegant building was built in 1886. Its important part is also Ganymede's Fountain. Cumil - „Man at work“ is one of the most famous sculptures and one of bigest attractions in Bratislava.

14 Old City streets We wandered on Old City streets.

15 Devin Castle stands on massive rocky hill above the junction of rivers Danube and Morava. It was built on place of former hill-fort. It was first mentioned in 1271. Zvedavka, why couldn't I go with you to such beautiful castle? Zvedavka, why couldn't I go with you to such beautiful castle?

19 Bojnice This is one of the most beautiful and one of the most visited castles, not only in Slovakia, but in central Europe. Its present form is a result of rebuild in 19th century. Days of ghosts take place here every year. Bojnicky castle is favorite place for making movies – fairy tales known all around the world.

20 Terchova This is birthplace of the most popular slovak forest robber and folk hero. Juraj Janosik is reminded by steel above-life size statue above the town. Local museum and „Robber day” is connected with his name and life.

22 High Tatra Town Vysoke Tatry (High Tatra) lies in most beautiful and the only slovakian alp. High Tatra are popular to those, who can appreciate clean air, mountain climate and traditional slovak hospitality. Of course, it was waterfall on “Cold river”. Do you remember how cold was that water?
