3 Pride Is … Inordinate view of self; conceit Exalting oneself over God, ignoring God (Psa. 10:3-4,11; 2 Thess. 2:4) Exalting oneself over fellow-man (Lk. 18:11)

8 Pride Warning Signs Accept roles for some reason other than service? Do something in order to advertise deeds? Jealous or envious of another’s success? Refuse to be seen with certain brethren? Difficulty expressing appreciation? Will not respond to the invitation? Refuse “insignificant” jobs? Difficulty admitting wrong? Make people beg? Disobedient?

9 Pride Conquered View pride the way God does (Prov. 6:17) Do not tolerate pride (Psa. 101:5) Have true love (1 Cor. 13:4) Remember we are human and need God (Psa. 9:20; 2 Cor. 3:5) Do not think more highly than we ought (Rom. 12:2,16; Gal. 6:3) Put on humility (Mic. 6:8; Jas. 4:6; 1 Pet. 5:5-6) With God’s word (2 Cor. 10:5) Bring pride down before it brings you down!
