2 SCRAM Donning Procedures Open Plastic Carrying Case
Inspect Moisture Strip Inside Sealed Bag If Color has Changed from Blue to PINK – Do Not Use!

3 SCRAM Remove Sealed Bag from Case
If Vacuum Sealed Bag has been Opened – Do Not Use! If Vacuum Seal has been broken – Device May Not Function Properly

4 SCRAM Open Vacuum Bag Brace Package Against Body (Waist)
Grip Vacuum Bag at Tear Notch Tear Bag Open Discard Plastic and Cardboard Packing

5 SCRAM Initiate Oxygen Flow
Locate the Pull Ring Marked “PULL TO ACTUATE” Pull Ring Parallel to Housing to Ensure Proper Activation Actuation Complete When Pin Pulls Free Should Hear Gas Flow when Activated.

6 SCRAM IMPORTANT! If the Pin Fails to Release Properly or No Oxygen Flow is Heard DO NOT USE THE DEVICE Obtain Another Device Use of a Non-Functioning Device May Have Adverse and Detrimental Effects that May be Incompatible with Life!

7 SCRAM Donning the Hood Remove Large Earrings, Hair Combs, or Any Objects that May Catch or Snag the Hood During Donning. Eyeglasses may be Left On Pull Long Hair Back and Toward Top of Head Ensures Adequate Vision and Allows Headband to Engage

8 SCRAM Hold Hood Upside Down with Visor Toward User and Oxygen Canister Away from User. Hold Hood at Neck Seal Opening with Fingers and Thumb Bend Forward at Waist

9 SCRAM Insert Chin into Opening and Pull Hood Over Face and Head
Be Sure Neck Seal is Around Neck by Pulling Hood Down Gently Be Sure Hair and Clothing is Removed from Neck seal Use Fingers to Ensure Neck Seal is Complete

10 SCRAM WARNING! Failure to Obtain a Proper Seal or Neck Circumference is Less than 12.2 Inches May Reduce Protection and Expose the User to a Dangerous Atmosphere

11 SCRAM Stand Upright and Grasp Hood and Pull Down Firmly to Engage Headband Neck Seal Should Fall Just Above or Just Below the “Adams Apple” for Comfort

12 SCRAM Pull Hood Bottom Fully Down Around Chest and Shoulders to Cover and Protect Neck Seal Prevent Flame, Embers, or Objects from Contacting the Neck Seal

To Knowingly Enter a Hazardous Atmosphere To Attempt a Rescue Around Fire or Open Flame To Remain in a Known or Suspected Hazardous Atmosphere Underwater

15 SCRAM The Scott SCRAM Emergency Escape Hood is Intended for Escape Only. The Sole Function is to Provide the Wearer with a TEMPORARY supply of Oxygen for a Period Long enough to Escape from Most Hazardous Atmospheres.

16 SCRAM The SCRAM is Designed to Last 15 Minutes 900 Seconds 180 Breaths

17 SCRAM If the SCRAM is NOT Immediately Available – DO NOT Waste Time Looking for It. Leave The Area as Quickly as Possible
