20 20 Some things we’ve learned  China: a big market opportunity, a big sourcing opportunity  China is not just for low-tech, high labour-content products  The Canadian Embassy and the Bureau du Québec à Beijing can be very helpful Understanding the market, making introductions, securing government interest/approval for your project if required  Importance of knowing basic Chinese history, culture, and business practices  Importance of “personal” relationships Chinese do business with the person first, then the company  Importance of understanding hierarchies and decision-making power  Three most important things: patience, patience, patience
