3 Construction By the early 1900s, Belfast was a thriving industrial city with 390,000 people living there. Harland & Wolff the biggest shipbuilding company built over 70 vessels for the White Star Line.  The most famous of these were the Olympic, Titanic and Britannic .

4 Facilities Onboard 2 Parlor Suites each with a 50 foot private promenade and 67 other First Class Staterooms & Suites. Gymnasium with rowing machines, a stationary bicycle and an electric horse. A fully equipped darkroom for amateur photographers to try their skills.

5 Maiden Voyage The maiden voyage was from Southampton to New York on April 10th 1912. In command was captain Edward John Smith.

6 Iceberg Collision Fredrick Fleet and Reginald Lee saw an iceberg ahead towering feet above the water.

7 The Sinking On April the 14th at 23:40 it struck an ice-burg.
It took 2 hours to sink and with the strong currancy and tremendous amount of pressure there was no way anyone could survivor in less in a boat. There was a great amount of lives lost they could of saved more but they didn’t fill all of the life boats up and they took some off because they was cluttering up the decks.

8 Survivors There were 2,227 people on board 706 survived and over 1,500 perished.
