6 Differential-Association Theory: One of the main attributes to this theory is how throughout all of Ted’s life he was very antisocial. He wasn’t very fond of John Bundy, his mother’s new husband, and that is why he began to isolate himself. Ted, from a young age, felt entitled to the objects he wanted and that’s what started his planning on robbing people, even though he never carried these plans out. This is what ultimately started Bundy’s deviant behavior. It made him feel powerful and like he had a hold over other people, and he loved this. He began to crave that power and led to the progression of him deviance. THEORY

7 Differential-Association Theory This behavior is a great example of Differential-Association Theory. Throughout Bundy’s life his actions are the initial development of his motives. You can see how he slowly progressed with his crimes, growing more and more serious. He stated in an interview before his execution that he was aggressively addicted to pornography and that this had a major influence on his life. He said that this was his drive to commit the brutal crimes that he did and that it fueled him. He would use special tactics to lure women towards him and that’s when he would attack his victim. THEORY
