Our region was represented by 6 persons responsible for the RadziMy Project:

Our visit in Norway was prepared and organized by Mr. Olav Bergmal – Sveio Municipality Officer.

Bergen welcomed us just as friendly as the representatives of 6 Youth Councils from Bergen and neighbouring communities: Sveio, Leirvik, Stord, Bomlo, Fitjar.

Each of the meetings let us present our organization and the idea of our project: „RadziMy – Youth Councils in Wielkopolska region”. Our project was welcomed by each Youth Council with a great interest and preliminary approval.

We also had a chance to get to know our Norwegian partners better. We learned about Youth Councils’ working and election principles, their activities and actions serving local communities and environment. We now know how new members of Youth Councils are being recruited, and what the cooperation between them and local organizations and entrepreneurs looks like.

The importance of international cooperation and youth exchanges was stressed each time during the meetings, as a source of new experiences and working inspiration also for the Norwegians.

We had a pleasure to meet Mr Bjarne Aksnes Martinsen - Director of the Sveio Municipality Administration. He presented us with the qualities of the Sveio Community, made us familiar with the functioning of his Office, and informed us about the cooperation between the Office and the Sveio Youth Council.

Mr Olav Bergmal prepared a special lecture for us. He told us about the activities of Sveio Youth Council in detail and shared his wide experience by answering all of our arose questions.

We found out that, Youth Coucils in this region do start their meetings with a common meal. indeed !!!

After pizza, Youth Council’s sessions take place. We were invited to be a part of one of them. It was conducted in English language - especially for us.

Each of the meetings was concluded with thank-you promotional materials and souvenirs for our Norwegian hosts.

We also took part in a press conference organized by local newspaper from Sveio - "Vestavind”. The article about our visit was published on March 6, 2014.
