ISDH Universal Precautions  Lead equipment should not be used for other tests.  All lead equipment should be kept in a dust-proof container.  Try to avoid touching equipment when transferring it into the dust-proof container.  Use powder free gloves (or be sure to rid gloves from any powder).  Wash hands before and after procedure!

8. ISDH Safety Concerns  If you have an accidental stick with the used lancet – follow employer’s policy.  You have only a few hours to get medication into your mouth.  Transport and dispose of sharps container according to employer’s policy.
