8. Background of the song The real Tom`s Restaurant appeared in Seinfield. The “Tom`s Diner” of the song is Tom`s Restaurant in New York City which later became Monk`s Café in Seinfield.

9. Vega wrote the song by comment of her friend Brian Rose, a photographer, who said that he sometimes felt as if he “saw his whole life through a pane of glass”.
