1 Comm Arts-Day 1 (computers are needed) Bell Ringer: Discuss with your partner what is a problem you have or have had in your life? What was or could be the solution? (2 minutes)

2 Lesson Goal and Essential Question Lesson Goal: People will continue to explore their relationship with nature. Nonfiction and fact are not synonymous. Essential Question: How do I know what purpose to use to get my ideas across?

3 What’s the difference? Which one is cause and effect and which one is problem and solution? Cause and effect are similar with problem and solution, but NOT the same. The solution is not always the effect. Example: Jane likes Jim and he told her he likes her too, but Jane finds out he actually likes her friend Lisa. So, she covers his locker with shaving crème. OR Jane likes Jim and he told her he likes her too, but she finds out he actually likes her friend Lisa. Jane decides to tell Jim how she feels and confront him about his feelings. (5 mins)
