3 Learn Whatever God Teaches Unwilling to give up what they know TTraditions and opinions PPride enters in (Matthew 13:15) ““Hunger and thirst after righteousness” (Matthew 5:6) DDesire the Word (1 Peter 2:2) DDo all in His name (Colossians 3:17)

4 Accept Whatever God Offers Be satisfied  “Father knows best” (Matthew 6:8)  No murmuring (1 Corinthians 10:10)  “Godliness with contentment is great gain” (1 Timothy 6:6-8)

5 Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realization of what you already have

8 Be Unaware of Our Own Importance Danger of self-esteem  “Vanity of the mind” (Ephesians 4:17)  Puffed up (1 Corinthians 8:1, 2)  Self is misplaced (Romans 12:3)  Get the right picture (Matthew 8:8)  Others more highly than self (Philippians 2:3)

9 Be Unaware of Our Own Importance Related to love  Genuine love (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)  Not just the appearance of humility (Colossians 2:8)

10 Be Unaware of Our Own Importance Opposite of pride  Pride makes one seek honor (Matthew 20:21)  Concerned with who is the greatest (Matthew 23:5-7)  Prides leads to destruction (Proverbs 16:18; James 4:6; 1 John 2:15-17)

11 Conclusion Have you submitted to God? Are you humble enough to change?
