4. According to Jim Knight, author of Instructional Coaching, leaders of change use the following eight tactics.

6.  Know what you stand for if you want others to stand with you.

7.  Develop a deep understanding and clear way of communicating the ideas you have to share with others.

8.  Do all you can to ensure that your teachers know what is expected of them and have what they need to implement the teaching practices you share with them.

9.  Ask questions that help you focus on the real situation in teachers’ classrooms and your school.

10.  Recognize that behavior is often as much a product of organizational culture as it is of each individual’s characteristics.

11.  Embody a paradoxical mix of ambition for students and personal humility.

12.  If you want to lead change, you must protect and nourish yourself.
