Presently working with an interim administrative secretary for West Africa CPD programme planned cold not hold as the hosting Maltings declined last minute due to internal issues with their plant. Next CPD planned for 3 rd week in April to visit a glass manufacturing company in Lagos Registration of the West African section held up by new requirement from the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria and working with the support of Greg Udeh to get a consultant to handle this. Assured by Greg and Patrick that the funds in Nigeria are safe and will be accessed once full registration of the West Africa section is completed.
ISOE feedback 16 bursaries were awarded last year, although one student (Bheki Dlamini) withdrew The ISOE bursaries total R 25000, paid in two tranches. The first tranche was paid to all students. The second tranche was due in July 2011 but funds has still not been forthcoming from FoodBev. Due to new SETA legislation our role in terms of bursary administration has been terminated but that we hope to retain a technical role. FoodBev SETA will not also be able to give bursaries or sponsorship to intervarsity brewing competition.
