4 CONFIDENTIAL The Problem Over 200 million children in developing countries are unable to fulfill their developmental potential Grantham-McGregor et al, Lancet 2007 Children’s health is a nation’s wealth: healthy child development is the foundation of a vital and productive society with a prosperous and sustainable future National Scientific Council on the Developing Child 2010 The Challenge To develop sustainable products, services and implementation models that protect, promote and nurture healthy child and brain development in the first 1000 days at scale with lasting impact on human capital in low resource settings. 4

7 Saving Brains in a sustainable manner, at scale, requires committed, engaged, aligned organizations who can bring their resources and expertise to bear. For example: Global partners to support innovations globally Regional partners to support innovations within regions of interest Implementation partners to inform current needs for innovation and rapidly take up innovations for impact at scale Corporate partners to support the scaling of specific innovations aligned with their core business 7 Saving Brains Partnership
