 Video’s high bandwidth, requires a star (home run) configuration
PTZ may be done on the same fiber – also star configuration
Data for Access Controls is either star or daisy chain, product offered
includes redundant self-healing ring configuration on two fibers

Cameras on pole require stand alone modem transmitter
Video and PTZ data may be on 1 or two fibers
In a building to building, use rack to rack configuration
4 Video multiplexed on 1 fiber is less costly than 4 separate video
transmitters and saves 3 fibers
Install cost of 12 fibers is same as 24 fibers – think spares
In brand new install, it is better to divide risk between electronics and
optical cable. Example: specify 4 video mux on 1 fiber vs. 8 video mux
on 1 fiber
When specifying 4 video mux with PTZ data, only 1 data is required.
Since domes are addressed by keyboard, data may be daisy-chained
on copper or a code distributor may be installed remotely
