Having to do only with one of the 50 states. Texas is our State.

Having to do only with one city, community or county. Haslet is our city. We live in Tarrant County.

6. Branches of Government Executive Branch
Executive Branch of government—President and Vice President of the United States are the national executive branch.
Executive Branch of government-
Governor of a state. In our State of Texas, Rick Perry is the governor so he is the executive branch of our state government.
The mayor of the city government leads the city council and is elected by the people of the city. So the mayor is the executive of the local government.

7. Branches of Government Legislative Branch
Legislative Branch of government–
United States Congress the House of Representatives and the Senate. They work in the capitol building in Washington D.C. as the national legislative branch. The Legislative branch makes the laws.
Texas Congress that works in the Texas State capitol building in Austin, TX as the state legislative branch. The Legislative branch makes the laws.
The City Council is the Local legislative branch. It is people who are elected by the citizens of Keller to make the laws for Keller.

Judicial Branch of government-
The judicial branch at each level is made up of Courts, Judges, and juries. The judicial branch of government at the national level is the Supreme Court who makes sure laws are constitutional.
The judicial branch at each level is made up of Courts, Judges, and juries. The judicial branch at the state level has trials for cases that involve laws broken in the State of Texas.
The judicial branch at each level is made up of Courts, Judges, and juries. The judicial branch at the local level is has trials for cases that involve laws broken in the City of Keller.
