Traffic Issues – N.K.Patel
Introduction: Bharuch town is bound / cut across by various trunk grids of national highway NH 8 (old & new), state highway (Bharuch Dahej), and railways (main trunk line & Bharuch Dahej line). Narmada river & GNFC also binds the spread of the town The uneven topography of city from Mohammadpura to Zadeshwar also causes traffic problems especially in connection with drainage problems. Though these facilities are useful they many a times cause problems. These infrastructures can be utilized better if a holistic planning can be done with this.
20
Traffic solutions - N.K.Patel
Suggestion At Zadeshwar highway crossing bumps should be provided on up side of both ways (also) so that the heavy vehicles of NH 8 break the speed. It has been observed that sometime one side is stopped & other side vehicles do not stop causing more traffic. They do not stop on signal by Traffic Brigade & sometime their lives may be endangered
21
Traffic solutions - N.K.Patel
No road side parking of transport vehicles / auto rickshaws at ALL junctions beyond the marking (line designated by traffic police) – (Some of the operators make ugly remarks on public especially female) Bharuch : Panch batti Railway station (all sides) especially near President hotel & in front across road Near west side foot over bridge on godi side On east side of foot over bridge. Kasak circle. Sheetal circle. Tulsidham crossing. Zadeshwar road crossing. Narmada junction on NH 8. ABC circle. Shravan crossing. Jambusar crossing. Ankleshwar : Teen Rasta Station Road Chauta Naka Gadkhol Patia Pratin Chowkdi Valiya Chowkdi Piraman Naka Jinwala School Bharuchi Naka
26
Bharuch – Ring road plan - N.K.Patel
27
Encroachment Bharuch & Ankleshwar are developing cities
Every day you will see encroachment on road side by migrated people. Bharuch – Old N.H.-8 from Golden Bridge to Shital circle – Link Road – Mohammadpura – Zadeshwar Road Ankleshwar – Tin Rastaa, Station Road, Shak Market – Hawa mahel to Pratin Hotel to Gadkhol Patia on Old N.H.8 Ankleshwar city to Rajpipla Chowkdi – DGVCL to Piraman Naka – Sadanand Chowkdi to Sarangpur Such encroachments destroying beauty of both the towns. Road side area should be covered and Gardens/tree should be planted Near by companies/societies/shopping centers to be asked to manage plantations to save precious land.
28
LESSONS FROM OTHER TOWNS / CITIES DEVELOPMENT MODELS – N.K.Patel
AHMEDABAD: Development plans were prepared with concept of ring roads and peripheral development. Ahmedabad is growing uniformly on all the sides in circular pattern. This leads to appropriate and uniform development of civic amenities. The maintenance of facilities like water supply / drainage / roads, other infrastructure also becomes easy for authorities. For peripheral development, the commuting distances for general public also become lesser. For parking areas in city—CG road concept / Multilevel parking concept can be adopted
29
LESSONS FROM OTHER TOWNS / CITIES DEVELOPMENT MODELS – N.K.Patel
GANDHINAGAR/ CHANDIGARH: These are newly planned and developed cities with grid planning/ modular planning.—OR SECTORAL PLANNING This type of planning ensures phased development with ease. Internal development plans can be with appropriate parkings/ cycling lanes/ footpaths Civic amenities like social places/ educational institutions/ entertainment zones etc can be put in different sectors, with even proportioning.

LESSONS FROM OTHER TOWNS / CITIES DEVELOPMENT MODELS – N.K.Patel
MORBI: RIVER BANK DEVELOMENT: BHARUCH HAS VERY OLD HISTORIC RIVER BANK/ IT SHOULD BE DEVELOPED WITH ITS ANCIENT IDENTITY AND NOT SO CALLED MODERN CONCEPTS PEDESTRIAN SUSPENSION BRIDGE CONECTING TWO PARTS OF CITY INTERNAL CHOWKS WITH CONVENTIONAL OUTING/ HANG OUT PLACES—OLD BHARUCH HAS SIMILAR PLACES. GONDAL/ JAIPUR: WIDE ROAD NETWORK WITH BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED STONE KERBS. FOOTPATHS UNIFORMITY OF RAILINGS ON ROAD SIDE PROPERTIES
32
LESSONS FROM OTHER TOWNS / CITIES DEVELOPMENT MODELS – N.K.Patel
SURAT: Flyover construction at proper places and its efficient management for traffic decongestion Administrative Efficiency for maintenance of civic services by dividing the city in appropriate zones and empowering the zonal officers for best performance in the public interest. Sports complexes/ Public Institutions like science city HYDERABAD: Encouraging GREEN buildings by giving tax incentives.

BHARUCH ANKLESHWAR URBAN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (BAUDA)
Suggestions in regards with Proposed Draft Development Plan & General Development Control Regulation Volume-III
35
BHARUCH ANKLESHWAR URBAN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (BAUDA)
Suggestions and concerns in regards with Proposed Draft Development Plan & General Development Control Regulation Volume-III Followings are our suggestions and concerns: Proposed Draft Development Plan was announced on 13th Jan 2014, our concern is when we will get the primary final draft development plan of BAUDA. Online Tracking system : Since last two years we are suggesting to have a online file tracking system on website. But no development has been taken place till date. Our concern is if the online file tracking system launched every individual can track his/her file status and it will also help in fast processing. TP-3 – Bharuch City (Western Area): Still in many case the records are not updated and effect of new planning has not taken place in form no 7, 12 etc due to this technical problems are arising and development is not taking place. Parallel Procedure of N/A Approval and Layout plan Approval: We should implement in both PCPIR and BAUDA because in other Urban development authorities like SUDA, VUDA,AUDA due to parallel procedure the process time is saved and it will benefit both BAUDA & individuals

BHARUCH ANKLESHWAR URBAN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (BAUDA)
Suggestions and concerns in regards with Proposed Draft Development Plan & General Development Control Regulation Volume-III - Inclusion of CREDAI BHARUCH Committee Members in BAUDA Committee Corridor widths to be redefined separately for single loaded and double loaded. Corridor widths given in the GDCR are very huge for single loads. - Thick Plantation for plot areas to be increased to more than m2. - Length of building to be defined especially for tenements/row houses. - In case if a building has part ground floor as useable built up area and the rest as parking, the parking area should be considered as hollow plinth. The permissible height for this part of the building should be considered from first floor and that of the rest from ground floor. Low rise building is defined as 16.50mt high in the GDCR, whereas, in R1 zone the maximum permissible height is 15mts which should be allowed to 16.50mts so that larger floor to floor heights are possible. In past CREDAI has already submitted our suggestions in letter dated 7th March 2014, 17th November 2014 and 16th March 2015,

Sports Initiatives – Moksh Udani
Bharuch district has historically been successful in developing sportsman who has represented the City at National Level in various different sports. For example: Sameer Abbasi was trained in Bharuch by his father and now plays on behalf of the Railways. Vinay Panchal – a student from GNFC was a part of the cricket team at the Ranji Level. Munaf Patel has been one of the biggest success from our region at international level.
54
Sports Initiatives – Moksh Udani
As a City, We should look into taking the following initiatives: - If students require better coaching facilities, they tend to move to Surat or Ahmedabad as it provides superior quality guidance and coaching camps. - Currently, there is one single district level tournament held, which needs to be organized annually and if GNFC can provide the premises for the same, it would be ideal. - Tie up with international universities where by our students would go there and get coaching for 2 to 3 months while their players can come here and learn best practices. It would allow students to gain cross cultural experiences and be a better player in time to come.
55
CITIZENS AWARD – by Kamlesh Udani
