2 Furbies In 1998 Tiger Electronics introduced the Furby to the toy market. It was considered a “must have” toy during Christmas. Furbish is the language of the Furby community. Dave Hampton is the creator of the Furby. When the Furby first came out it was sold for $3,000.

3 Mechanics of Furbies Muscles of a Furby: All furbies have only one reversible motor, with many different gears for different functions. Such as gears that move the ears, eyelids, eyes, mouth, and butt. They use these gears to blink, dance, and “eat”. Nervous System of a Furby: PC boards are found in furbies as well as a few chips for select functions. The senses of a Furby: The Furby has many senses that we have in the human body, and more. They have switches such as the stroke switch, tummy switch, tongue switch (tasting), a microphone/speaker switch (speaking).

4 Furbish Language Believe it or not, furbies have their own language. They know how to say 800 different words and phrases. There are common phrases such as: Kah a tay: I’m hungry. E-day doo-ay wah: I like this! Nee-tye kah:Tickle me. May-tah kah: Kiss me! Noh-lah: It’s party time! Kah toh-loo loo-loo: I like jokes.
