6. SITE ANALYSIS LOCATION : SITUATED NEAR SHIRWAL(ABOUT 2.5KMS FROM
NH-4, PUNE – SATARA HIGHWAY.
AREA : ABOUT 15.8 ACRES
TOPOGRAPHY : GRADUALLY SLOPING TOWARDS EAST
APPROACH ROAD: ENTRANCE TO THE SITE FROM SOUTH.

7. CONCEPT OF THE PROJECT
The Marine Training Institute of capacity of 520 students is designed by keeping into consideration the Principles of Institutional Architecture. The main Academic block is designed around the open courtyard concept. The Classrooms and Labs are designed around the Courtyard which forms the Crux of the Block. The Internal Courtyard shall be used as the Space for Amphitheatre where all the Cultural Activities can be carried out. The Main Academic Block being G+1 structure symbolizes the character of an institute with exposed brick masonry contrasting with the glass fenestrations at various levels to take in the Diffused light mainly from the North and the South Side. The various Labs have been kept isolated from the Main Structure for Safety reasons.
The Academic and the Administration Block are flanked by the Auditorium and the Library Block towards the Northern side. The Library is designed with all the major windows and apertures on the north side letting the North Diffused light to flow in the reading areas. A central walkway connects all the major structures of the Institute. The residential facility for the Teaching Staff and the Directors of the Institute have been kept towards the East side of the Site by designing the Assembly/Playground in between.
The Institute also offers Value Added Courses (Post Graduate) programmes. The residential facility for the Post Graduate Interns have been provided along with the Health/ Recreational Block. The One Time Dinning Facility for the Students have been designed close to the Main Entrance for Service Entrance purposes.
The Main Walkway from the Academic Block forms an Avenue flanked by various Structures on the either side.
