Evening Prayer

I am exceedingly grateful, O Lord, for You have heard my cries and complaints, and You responded with mercy and strength. Now my life is overflowing, with thanks giving, and my mouth is filled with Your praises. If only the leaders of our disjointed world would listen to Your words and direct their people in accord with Your will, they would then know the meaning of peace, and they would rejoice in the ways of God. Ant. I will praise my God all my days Ps.138

You have not shielded me from the pains of trouble or the ravages of conflict, but You have kept me even amid sorrow and suffering. You take my side against the enemies of my soul, and You will not allow them to destroy me. Thus I know You will fulfill Your purpose for my life. Your love and mercy is everlasting; You will not let me go. Ant. I will praise my God all my days

Antiphon: You have redeemed us,Lord God, in your blood, from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. You have made us a kingdom to our God. Worthy are you, our Lord and God, To receive glory and honour and power, For you created all things, And by your will they existed and were created. Worthy are you, O Lord, To take the scroll and to open its seals, For you were slain, And by your blood you ransomed men for God From every tribe and tongue and people and nation. CanticleCanticle

You have made us a kingdom and priests to our God And we shall reign on earth. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, To receive power and wealth, And wisdom and might, And honor and glory and blessing. Antiphon: You have redeemed us,Lord God, in your blood, from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. You have made us a kingdom to our God.

Psalm 91 Ant. Rescue my soul, Lord, from the gate of death.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you make the Most High your dwelling— even the Lord, who is my refuge—

then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;

they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Ant. Rescue my soul, Lord, from the gate of death.

The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: "Come, go down to the potter's house, and there I will let you hear my words.” So I went down to the potter's house, and there he was working at his wheel. The vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter's hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as seemed good to him. Then the word of the LORD came to me: Can I not do with you, O house of Israel, just as this potter has done? says the LORD. Just like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel. Jer 18:1-6

R : In you, O Lord, I take refuge. Let me not be lost for ever. V : I will rejoice and be glad because of your merciful love. R: Glory be… Short Responsory

My soul magnifies the Lord And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior; Because He has regarded the lowliness of His handmaid; For behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed; Because He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name; And His mercy is from generation to generation on those who fear Him. MagnificatMagnificat

He has shown might with His arm, He has scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart. He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and has exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty. He has given help to Israel, his servant, mindful of His mercy Even as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his posterity forever. MagnificatMagnificat

1.Let us pray to Christ who gives us the hope that our mortal bodies will become like his in glory. Lord, you are our life and our resurrection. 2. Lord, you are the light of the world and the teacher of holiness, grant that we may remain firm in the true faith and proclaim your name to the ends of the earth. 3. Compassionate Savior, you wiped away all tears when you gave back to the widow of Naim her only son; comfort those who mourn because the one they love has died. 4. Christ, our Redeemer, destroy the reign of sin in our mortal bodies; let us not receive the wages of death but the reward of eternal life. 5. Lord, you came to preach the Gospel to the poor, teach us the art of translating your Word into our lives. IntercessionsIntercessions

Dear Jesus, I want to receive Your gift of love--love to relieve my inner longings, and love to brighten the lives of others and help them find true happiness. Jesus, come into my heart as my Lord and Good Shepherd. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to be a living example of Your love to others, so they, too, will want to open their hearts to You and receive Your love. Amen.

Thank you, and may God richly bless you.
