NZQA - Level 4 Unit Standards The limited credit programme; developed for residential care staff US 23920, US 23921, US 23922, US 23933 These four existing dementia unit standards are due for revision as part of the Health and Wellbeing (Advanced Health Support) Level 4 qualification – this phase is due to commence in the next month or so.

16. NZQA – Level 3 Unit Standards Developed for community based care staff. US 26974 Describe interaction, supports, and reporting for people with dementia in an aged care, health, or disability context (Level 3, 8 credits) A new level 3, 8 credit unit standard has been created called Provide person-centred care when supporting a person living with early-stage dementia. It is anticipated that this will approved and on the framework within the next month or so. These two units will form part of the Health and Wellbeing Level 3 qualification and the new Unit Standard can also be a standalone training option

17. Open Minds, Open Doors A training option for community based support workers based on the new unit standard and the Walking In Anothers Shoes training.
